I just finished my last conference, and I'd like to thank you all for taking the time to meet with me. I enjoyed sharing the successes of your child and also opportunities for improvement! Thank you for your support of your student and our school.
The kids have already come so far in just a few months! I can't wait to see how much more they are capable of by the end of the school year. Next week, we will continue our ocean unit and will also begin sentence writing and our unit on drug and alcohol awareness. In Kindergarten, we use invented spelling at the beginning while students are just learning to write words. Students will spell words with the sounds they hear. In the beginning, this may only be a beginning and ending sound. For example: bird may be brd or even bd. The students will need encouragement, assistance, and reminders that it doesn't have to be perfect. We only expect them to try their best.
As always, let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for visiting our classroom website! I'm so excited to meet you and your children tomorrow! I will be checking emails from home today up until about 8pm tonight. If you have any questions at all, please email me and let me know! I'd love to hear from you! email@example.com.
In our classroom, I use remind.com. It's an app that allows me to communicate with parents by text. Last year, I sent about 5 texts a month to remind families about picture day, special events, or due dates. If you'd like to sign up, text 281888 to 81010 or click the button above.
I'm looking forward to returning to school soon to prepare the classroom for the incoming kindergartners! We begin in two weeks, on August 8th. Please take a look at the information on our web site and send me an email if you have any questions. Information regarding kindergarten standards, homework, parent helpers, and classroom schedules will be sent home the first week and also discussed at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 11th at 6:00pm. I look forward to working with your family this year!
